Can a learning management system be patented? Seems so. Where does this leave open source systems such as Moodle? Do you find this valuable?

Wow, this is a bit like Micro$oft patenting the right-click or the Shut-Down button! Can we really trust the BB 'pledge' to leave non-commercial LMSs like Moodle and Sakai alone, given their ties to M$ and their history of anti-competitiveness?

I think the BB patent is going back to the U.S. Patent Office for re-evaluation next - hopefully it'll be trashed to the Recycle Bin!
